Bruised by everything from COVID-driven factory closures to free-falling market demand, Gildan experienced an overall $225.3 million net loss last year, according to earnings statements from the publicly traded company. Its activewear division revenue, which includes sales to promo, fell 33.8% – the figure by which Counselor estimates Gildan’s North American promo sales declined. In a sign of recovery, Gildan’s Q1 2021 total global sales were up 28.4%, with activewear up 30.1%.
