Sales were up almost 6% for the Newton, IA-based company run by Counselor Power 50 stalwart Chris Vernon, who has placed a renewed emphasis on building the corporate culture of his family business. Having hired Lisa Hubbard as the vp/sales & marketing towards the end of 2020, Hubbard – in a panel discussion at the ASI Orlando Show in January of this year – noted how important sharing knowledge and experience among team members is to the company’s continued growth and success. “Both Chris and I believe in working smarter, not harder,” Hubbard said on the panel, while also noting how important leveraging new technologies to help automate sales and operations, and making data-based decisions are to the strategic plan of the company going forward.
