Obituary: Wally Morris, Sheaffer Pen Company

Wally Morris, a longtime top salesman for Sheaffer Pen Company, died on Saturday, April 18. He was 77.

Morris worked for Sheaffer for 46 years, beginning his career in retail sales before eventually taking over an 11-state territory. Known for his showmanship and gifted presentation skills, Morris ascended to become Sheaffer’s top salesperson and its West Coast regional sales manager. He was a member of several industry organizations, including the Specialty Advertising Association of California and PPAI. Morris will always be remembered for his favorite line, which was: “You know on a scale of 1-10 you’re a 10.5.”

In addition to his work accomplishments, Morris was also a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and an Admiral for the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He had a passion for boating and deep sea fishing, as well.

Morris is survived by children Catherine, Walter and Scott, and grandchildren Dawn, Darlene, Breanna and Walter III. A vigil for Morris will be held at Camino Del Sol Memorial Center in Oxnard, CA, on Friday, May 15, followed by a sea sunset burial service out of Ventura Harbor on Sunday, May 17.
