Alphabroder Launches Green Team Initiative
The Top 40 supplier has implemented a three-factor method for validating the sustainability of products.
Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063) has announced the launch of its Green Team Initiative, creating an environmental, social and governance corporate platform that it maintains is both meaningful and measurable.
“Sustainable practices are as important today as product safety, fair labor and supply chain safety were 10 years ago,” Andrea Routzahn, chief merchant at alphabroder | Prime Line said in a press release. She added that the supplier had allocated additional resources last year to “examine our sustainability protocols and establish a corporate Green Team initiative.”
The company has created a three-factor method for validating the products in its assortment with accurate and verifiable global sustainable components, sustainable manufacturing practices and a responsible mindset.
The factors are styles with sustainable materials contain all or a portion of verified sustainable fibers or materials; styles with sustainable manufacturing have been validated across a wide range of fabric and product manufacturing practices accepted by globally recognized organizations; and styles with responsible mindset are from brands with social and sustainable give-back policies directly linked to the products sold in the industry. It also recognizes products designed to be easily recycled, to reduce packaging waste and to reduce use of disposable products.
Additionally, the launch includes enhanced product fabric and features information added to the appropriate product descriptions.
With reported 2020 North American promotional product revenue of $1.4 billion, alphabroder ranked second on Counselor’s most-recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
