Tom Cruise Uses Promo Umbrella at ‘Mission: Impossible’ Premiere Events

Storm Duds Raingear supplied the world-renowned actor with the umbrella.

Tom Cruise used an umbrella from Storm Duds Raingear (asi/89863) at the global premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The versatile product kept the cast protected from the harsh summer sun for autograph signing in Rome and came in handy again when it rained during an event in Australia.

Storm Duds Raingear helped Cruise’s team find the perfect style and fulfilled the order with a quick turnaround time.

“We were excited when we were chosen as the preferred supplier because we know how great our quality items are, and we’re passionate about our line,” said Michelle DeMayo, national account manager at Storm Duds Raingear. “We were excited to be able to share that great quality umbrella with a top team such as Tom Cruise, Mission: Impossible.”

The umbrella has an automatic push button and offers UPF 90+ sun protection, which allowed for convenience as Cruise signed autographs in Rome.

Images of the branded umbrellas appeared in news outlets across the globe, from People to Entertainment Tonight Canada to the Sydney Morning Herald.

“This was a global advertisement – this was a global capture of our brand and how it can be used,” DeMayo said. “It was about [supporting] the entire cast in their mission for looking for that right item at the right time.”

DeMayo said Storm Duds’ ability to meet fast turnaround times sets it apart – if a client needs something overnight, they can do it. The company also offers a lifetime warranty because it stands behind the high quality of its products, she added. “And I think Mr. Cruise and his team are the same,” DeMayo said. “It’s all about quality in the structure of the things, so they don’t really cut any corners.”
