James Emmett & Company helps companies recruit, hire, train and retain employees with disabilities.
Trevose, PA-based Penn Emblem Company (asi/77120) has announced a new partnership with James Emmett & Company, a team of disability consultants who supports companies in launching relationships with local disability employment vendors and helps build the internal capacity to recruit, hire, train and retain employees with disabilities.
The supplier currently has roughly 500 employees with a plethora of diverse backgrounds between its corporate location and various factories. With unemployment rates skyrocketing in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Penn Emblem has pledged to expand the diversity of its workforce. Not only will the company be hiring more people with disabilities, but Penn Emblem has also received its National Women’s Business Enterprise Certification for 2020-2021.
“It is not enough for us to simply say that we are open to hiring people with disabilities,” Randi Blumenthal, president of Penn Emblem, said in a press release. “We must walk the walk, too. These people are intelligent, experienced and eager to do a good job, just like anybody else.”
The United States employed roughly 19.3% of people with disabilities in 2019, according to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics.
