Penn Emblem Donates Items for Australian Wildlife
Penn Emblem (asi/77120) hosted a two-week-long collection drive in its corporate office to collect gently-used items for the Animal Rescue Collective Craft Guild – to aid the organization in its effort to create relief items for animals affected by the wildfires that have been raging in Australia since September.
The Australia-based craft guild has been turning gently-used materials like old blankets and towels into bat wraps, nests, kangaroo pouches and koala mittens.
During Penn Emblem’s two-week collection period, the supplier gathered more than 70 blankets, sheets and towels – enough to fill four large garbage bags – to be donated to the crafting guild’s efforts.
The wildfires have been ongoing in Australia since September, killing at least 28 people, destroying more than 2,600 homes and razing more than 25.7 million acres, according to the Associated Press. The area burned is larger than Indiana.
