Top 40 distributor Safeguard Business Systems (asi/316203) announced that it has purchased the assets of USFI Inc., which is based in Dallas. Financial terms of the transaction, which was finalized on July 1, were not released. This is the second deal that Safeguard has completed in the past couple of months, after it previously acquired distributor firm Fontis Solutions (asi/230085) in May.

Founded in 1984 as a forms management program provider under the name U.S. Forms, Inc., USFI has since expanded its offerings to include branding, creative, production and printing capabilities. The company now positions itself as a marketing solutions firm that manages creative, production and logistics for local, regional and national clients.

Safeguard, a subsidiary of publicly-owned Deluxe Corporation (NYSE: DLX), ranks as the 31st-largest distributor in the industry on the newly-released Counselor Top 40. Counselor estimates that the company had $52.5 million in 2014 North American promotional products sales.
