Obituary: Sheldon Minster, JNI
Sheldon Minster, senior account executive at Top 40 distributor Jack Nadel International (JNI, asi/279600), passed away on June 1. He was 84.
The Chicago native was a born hustler, spending his childhood renting out seat cushions of Wrigley Field attendees who left early. After high school, he moved to Los Angeles where he met his wife, Linda, as well as life-changing friend Marty Nadel. Sheldon attended UCLA before serving in Korea with the U.S. Army.
In 1977, he joined JNI at the request of Marty, working out of the Culver City office for most of his career. Known for his sense of humor, deli food and close family ties, he was beloved by his peers and clients. A top sales rep, he continued working even after his cancer diagnosis and intense treatments.
“He was a top salesman for many years, but more importantly, he was a kind person with a good heart who was good to everyone around him, our internal people, vendors, clients and just people from all walks of life. We will all miss Sheldon,” said Craig Nadel, president of JNI.
Sheldon is survived by his wife, Linda, son Sam, and grandchildren Lauren and Shane.
Condolences can be sent to Linda Minster at 17040 Embassy Drive, Encino, CA 91316 or at tennislady@socal.rr.com.
