VisionUSA to Reduce Carbon Footprint
A new eco-focused program comes through a collaboration with UPS.
Dallas-based VisionUSA (asi/80060) has announced a collaboration with United Parcel Service (UPS) to improve corporate sustainability practices. As part of the partnership, the supplier will minimize monthly shipping emissions with voluntary or regulatory carbon credits.
“Our goal is to leverage the best practices of environmental responsibility,” Felix Soliz, president of VisionUSA, said in a press release. “Our mission is to create a meaningful, long-term platform to improve our corporate culture and current shipping processes in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.”
VisionUSA will now ship all products to customers through the UPS carbon neutral program. “It’s just one more way for us to demonstrate a strong commitment to emission reduction in our communities,” Soliz said.
With 2021 progressing, suppliers have been stepping up their sustainability efforts, as ASI Media has documented here.

Notably, other suppliers have established similar carbon-battling initiatives over the years. Top 40 supplier Hit Promotional Products (asi/61125) teamed up with UPS to offset carbon emissions on shipments leaving the supplier’s facilities. Hit pays an additional fee per package shipped via UPS, and in turn, UPS purchases third-party certified carbon offsets to mitigate emissions produced by transporting distributor shipments, which include envelopes, packages and freight.
Another Top 40 supplier, HPG (asi/61966), also has a carbon emissions offset program with UPS. Through UPS’s environmentally friendly shipment program, the shipping company keeps track of the origin, destination and transportation method (air or ground) of each package leaving one of HPG’s distribution centers across North America and calculates the shipment’s individual carbon footprint. That impact is then transferred into environmental efforts, such as reforestation, rainforest conservation, renewable energy and water filtration.
