Obituary: John Lascelles, Corporate Attire & More
A wine enthusiast and nature-lover, the Florida-based business owner was 66.
John Lascelles, co-owner of Florida-based promotional products distributorship Corporate Attire & More, passed away recently. He was 66.
Lascelles started CA&M with his wife, Cheryl, in 1999 in Orange County, CA. Prior to that, he owned and operated a plant and tree nursery in Lake Arrowhead, CA. An active outdoorsman and nature-lover, Lascelles ran the nursery to help restore and beautify his community after devastation from fires and damage from a bark beetle infestation. Lascelles was also a wine enthusiast and owned a small vineyard in Temecula, CA. A lifelong athlete, he was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and an avid Buckeye – ever since his college days at The Ohio State University.
Lascelles had a passion for natural medicine, starting a private Facebook group called “Stay Well My Friends!” in 2014 after battling throat cancer and wanting to find less-invasive treatments than traditional medicine offered. “This is a page dedicated to health, happiness and staying well,” the description reads. “I invite you to share information on things that make you happy, healthy and at peace with yourself and the universe.”
Friends and family remember Lascelles as a caring and helpful neighbor and a spiritual man who was always there for those in need. He once received a commendation from his town after extinguishing a fire at a neighbor’s house using a garden hose.
“John was a dear friend and a solid businessman,” said Cliff Quicksell, a promo industry veteran and Lascelles’ business coach. “Despite his being sick, he rarely if ever missed a consulting session. He was always upbeat, positive and professional. I think about him often and miss our weekly chats, our discussions on wine, and his laughter. A true gentleman, an amazing friend, he is sorely missed.”
Lascelles is survived by his wife Cheryl, his aunt Priscilla, sister Susan and nephews Michael and Max. Cheryl will continue to run CA&M and carry on Lascelles’ legacy moving forward.
A celebration of life for Lascelles will be held this summer or fall in Temecula, where close friends and family will have the opportunity to remember him.
