ASI Launches Promo Industry Food Fund Drive

The company will match every dollar that is donated to help those in need.

ASI has launched an industry-wide fund drive to benefit food banks. Through its new #ASIcares campaign, the company will match every dollar donated by distributors, suppliers, decorators and ASI employees. A promotional products company that donates $100, for example, will be matched with a $100 donation by ASI.

Cash contributions can be made to any food bank that is a 501(c)(3) organization in the U.S. or an equivalent recognized charitable organization outside the U.S. Only cash contributions made between May 12 and June 30 will count toward the match. Instead of food or perishable contributions, food banks prefer cash donations that allow them to stretch their dollars by buying at wholesale, ensuring the food most in need is purchased and delivered at the right time and location.

The ASI match contribution will be made to Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, with a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries across the country. “Food banks are in great distress,” said Tim Andrews, president and CEO of ASI. “While unemployment insurance is helpful, it isn’t enough to help those who are most at risk. Even before the pandemic, millions of children went to bed hungry every night. I can’t fathom the number now, and the food banks are seeing this stress and exceptional need.”

Andrews announced the #ASIcares food bank fund drive in a video livestream that went out to the promotional products industry.

Additionally, the name of everyone who donates will be added to the Bess Cohn Humanitarian Society and acknowledged during ASI’s annual Counselor Awards.

“We are blessed to be in a caring, charitable industry, filled with people who have demonstrated their generosity and kindness time and again,” Andrews said. “I am moved often by stories of generosity and giving back, ranging from simple assistance for community groups to ASI’s hurricane disaster relief fund drive that raised nearly $100,000 in 2017. I know this is a difficult time for many of us and our families. Lives have been disrupted and stressed. But we wanted to launch this effort to help those in especially difficult straits, rising above our own personal challenges.”

To be counted in ASI’s fund drive and earn the company’s match, please email and attach your receipt(s) to foodbankdrive@asicentral.com. ASI will match submitted receipts up to a total of $50,000.
