That's according to numbers just sent to us from Gill Studios, makers of the first bumper sticker in the mid-1940s.
Of 7,222,535 Trump and Biden related bumper stickers printed in 2020:
- 69% for Trump
- 31% for Biden
“Political business has been beyond projections this year,” says Cindy Scardino, marketing project manager at Gill Studios. “Four years ago, the presidential campaign was contentious as we all recall, and Gill produced over 3 million bumper stickers for both the Trump and Clinton campaigns. This year, we've more than doubled that amount and that's just bumper stickers. Constituents are proudly backing their candidate of choice and are not hesitant to share their selection.”
Founded in 1934 by Forest P. Gill, the Shawnee Mission, KS-based company combined fluorescent ink and self-sticking adhesive in the years immediately following World War II to make the first bumper stickers for cars. Earlier this year, ASI conducted its own bumper sticker polls for the Democratic presidential field ahead of the primaries.
With reported 2019 North American promotional product revenue of $54.3 million, Gill Studios ranked 29th on Counselor’s latest list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
