Redwood Classics Apparel (asi/81627) received the Technology Innovation Award at the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) Business Achievement Gala on Oct. 14 in Toronto. Redwood Classics was recognized for its sustainable all-over-print (S.A.O.P.(™)) apparel decoration technology, which uses 100% biodegradable ink and results in smaller batches using fewer resources for a smaller environmental footprint. “By leading the way in sustainability and eco-friendly production, Kathy and her team are setting a great example for future manufacturers,” says Cassandra Dorrington, President and CEO of CAMSC. “They’re proving that it can be done, and it can be done while making a positive impact on a company’s bottom line.”
Delta Apparel (asi/49172), a Top 40 supplier, has hired Patrick Bowman as senior director of DTG2Go, its digital print business unit. He will lead all operational aspects of the DTG2Go. He brings extensive experience in driving process standardization, building and managing key performance indicators and staffing models, and designing training and machine maintenance programs. Bowman was also a Captain in the United States Marine Corp, serving six years of active duty. Since 2013, he has served in various executive-level positions in the United States Marine Corp Reserve.
Promotional Source (asi/301292) in Oakville, ON, has hired Brian Leigh as vice president of sales & marketing. Leigh has more than 35 years of executive experience, including 11 in the Canadian promo industry, and will oversee the sales, marketing and vendor relations teams. “I’m so excited to join Promotional Source and the ‘Phrogger Phamily,’” says Leigh. “Promotional Source is an exciting company that has experienced an incredible growth trajectory through both organic growth and acquisition. Proforma (asi/300094), a Top 40 distributor, has renewed the “Proforma Family Cooking Show” for a second season. The series allows the Proforma family to connect by sharing recipes and family stories. With hundreds of creative recipe submissions for season one, the series was a hit among the Proforma network. Episodes for the new season will be released leading up to Proforma’s 2023 annual convention and family reunion, with winners in each category announced at the event.
All USA Clothing (asi/30171) announces that Camber, a Norristown, PA-based wholesale clothing manufacturer for which All USA is the primary retailer and U.S. sales partner, was recently featured in an article in GQ magazine entitled “The Legend of the World’s Greatest Sweatshirt.” Writer Noah Johnson, GQ’s global style director, focused on Camber founder and CEO Barry Schwartz, the company’s premium sweatshirts, the partnership with All USA and reshoring efforts.
PromoStandards, a tech-focused nonprofit committed to improving supply chain and transactional efficiencies in the promo industry, will host its first Tech Summit in Tampa, FL, from February 19 to February 21, 2023. The event, originally scheduled for October 2022, was postponed due to Hurricane Ian. The summit will occur at the Tampa Marriott Water Street Hotel and the agenda remains largely unchanged. IMAGEN Brands (asi/93990), an independently operating subsidiary of Top 40 supplier Koozie Group (asi/40480), has hired Karen and Chris Stauffer and Kris Dunn to the company’s sales team. All three will report to Jackie Walker, national sales manager. Chris and Karen Stauffer of the 25-year-old Cascade Marketing Group join as multi-line reps for the Pacific Northwest region, covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Dunn joins IMAGEN as a regional sales manager covering Florida and Puerto Rico. He previously worked on the distributor side of the industry.
Proforma (asi/300094), a Top 40 promo products distributor, recently hosted its 2022 annual Energize Summit in Savannah, GA. Proforma network owners had the opportunity to participate in one-on-one strategic planning sessions with supplier partners. “The Energize Summit provides a great opportunity for fresh, new ideas to flow between our Proforma owners and supplier network,” said Michelle Dalton, vice president of strategic partner development. “Our owners left the Summit with a renewed sense of energy and eagerness to bolster their sales in the upcoming year.”
