Buyers want more: here’s how you deliver
Today’s promotional apparel isn’t just about logoed shirts – it’s about an experience. Seventy percent of T-shirt recipients keep the garment because it’s useful, 37% because it’s attractive and 33% because it’s enjoyable to have. A T-shirt has to look good, feel good and perform. Customers want apparel that works hard for them, providing wicking, cooling, odor-control, sun protection and more. Hanes® continues to be a leader in comfort innovation, bringing performance solutions and adding value and style to everyday apparel.

Odor Control
FreshIQ™ is an innovative fabric treatment. This advanced odor-control technology targets odor causing bacteria, thereby reducing unpleasant odors from clothing.

Temperature
X-Temp® performance technology is designed to adapt to wearers’ activity, keeping them at a comfortable temperature. X-Temp® styles perform well with cotton’s soft hand.

Wicking
Hanes® Cool DRI® is engineered to wick moisture away from the body and dry on average faster than other leading brands. It pairs with FreshIQ™ to help reduce odor and has a 50+ UPF rating to keep wearers safe from the sun.

Use Innovation to Upsell
Whether the apparel innovation is to keep an athlete cool and dry, a family comfortable and safe from UV rays on vacation, or a corporate team outfitted in a size and style that’s fit to flatter each participant, explain to your clients the importance of choosing a garment that delivers not only style, but can also protect and perform.

Each year in the U.S., more than 5.4 million cases of non-melanoma skin cancers are treated in more than 3.3 million people. About 90% of non-melanoma skin cancers are associated with exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Garments with excellent UV protection have a rating of UPF 40 to 50+ and add a message of caring to any apparel program.

Performance innovation in apparel drives innovative decoration. Sublimation is expected to experience the second biggest growth (43%) in decorating techniques (after direct-to-garment printing) in the next five years. Performance apparel is an ideal fabric base – typically made of enhanced polyester or poly/cotton blends. Fourteen percent of decorators say they plan to add sublimation to their offerings within a year.

Fashion Ready to Perform
Triblend fabrics are used widely for high-fashion applications because of their soft drape, stretch and recovery – plus, they add awesome performance attributes.

Triblend fabric is lightweight and delivers a vintage vibe in a heather color, particularly when imprinted with a water-based ink.

Singles is the term used to refer to the diameter of the yarn used to make a fabric. For example, a typical cotton tee is usually 16 singles vs. 30, which is expressed as 30/1 singles. The higher the number, the thinner the yarn and the softer the garment’s hand.
