4 Ways To Increase Your Custom Sales

Wow your customers and boost profits with product customization.

Imagine showing your clients products like giftware and smartphone or tablet cases, with vibrant color graphics and custom 3-D textural effects. Then you tell them these products can be personalized – and it’s fast, easy and affordable. “The beauty of UV flatbed printing is its simplicity,” says Jay Roberts, Roland DGA’s product manager for UV printers. “It boosts the sales and profits of graphics and product providers without the need for expensive and time-consuming mass-production methods.”

The team at Roland DGA offers four techniques you can use with flatbed printers to make a powerful, truly custom visual impact worth every penny for your clients.

4 Ways To Increase Your Custom Sales

1. GO GLOSS (OR MATTE)
Encourage creativity with gloss or matte effects. “Roland UV flatbed printers offer a transparent ink you can add to create glossy or matte varnish and emboss effects,” Roberts says. Users can easily determine what type of finish they want – matte, glossy or varied levels of emboss – and the UV flatbed device automatically prints these finishes by changing the UV lamp position. “There are countless clear ink patterns and textures you can create, including stunning relief effects and even Braille,” he says.

2. A POP OF WHITE
White ink on color or darker materials like textile, wood, leather or metal creates a desirable contrast and really pops. White underlay separates graphics and text from the surface, “maintaining the texture and feel of the object while creating a strong color rendition,” Roberts says.

3. DON’T PAY THE COST TO EMBOSS OR DEBOSS
Easily simulate traditional embossing and debossing by adding textures or special effects to all kinds of media. You don’t need to use a special die-cut stamp made for a letterpress machine to impress the design onto a paper substrate anymore because UV flatbed technology has super-modernized these traditional techniques.
