Dri Duck Lands in Field & Stream

Outdoor apparel brand Dri Duck (asi/50835) is making a splash at the newly opened Field & Stream store in Kalamazoo, MI. The supplier’s spring assortment flew off the shelves at the specialty sports shop’s grand opening. Dri Duck's rugged canvas trail jacket (5038) did particularly well, and Field & Stream had to place a reorder to replenish stock of the item after selling out during the store’s opening weekend. “The sales data after the first weekend of being open was extraordinary,” says Abby Young, marketing coordinator for Dri Duck.

Owned by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Field & Stream is the chain’s answer to large outdoor specialty retailers like Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shop. Dri Duck has a long-standing relationship with Dick’s Sporting Goods, Young notes, so expanding into its Field & Stream channel made perfect sense. “Field & Stream is targeting a market that speaks directly to the Dri Duck customer,” she says. “Dri Duck is a brand built upon quality, comfort and love of the outdoors. These same qualities are valued by the Field & Stream customer.”

Currently, there are 21 Field & Stream stores across the eastern half of the United States. However, Dri Duck is available only at the Kalamazoo branch. The apparel brand expects to expand its presence to other Field & Stream locations throughout the year, according to Young.
