Charles River Kicks Off 2020 Clothing for a Cause
Top 40 supplier Charles River Apparel (asi/44620) has launched its second annual Clothing for a Cause campaign, raising money for three separate causes meant to bring comfort, support and joy to children and families.
Throughout the year, 10% of total sales for specific styles will be used to support the mission of three charities: Big Brother Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts, Christmas in the City and Camp Kesem.
“Charles River’s mission is to create a culture that is passionate about giving back, and as a family-owned business, we are grateful to be able to give back to such important causes in our community,” said Deb Lipsett, founder of the Sharon, MA-based supplier’s charitable giving program, Charles River Cares.
The Seaport full-zip hoodie, in men’s and women’s styles, will support Big Brothers Big Sisters, whose mission since its founding in 1904 has been to create and support one-on-one mentoring relationships.
The Camden crewneck sweatshirt will support Christmas in the City, a nonprofit organization run by volunteers that strives to lessen the impact of homelessness on families and children. Each year, thousands of volunteers put together an annual Christmas party for families living in homeless shelters.
The Performer jacket will support Camp Kesem, a nationwide community that supports children through and beyond their parent’s fight with cancer. The camp is the largest national organization dedicated to supporting children affected by a parent’s cancer, at no cost to families. It provides children with peers who understand their unique needs.
As part of its Clothing for a Cause campaign, Charles River will also be hosting pop-up stores throughout the year – one for each cause – to help raise awareness and increase the level of support for the charities.
Charles River created its Clothing for a Cause program last year, supporting a different set of charities. The Charles River Cares program was started a decade ago. Charles River ranks 37th on Counselor’s latest list of top suppliers, with 2018 North American sales of promotional products at $47 million.
