Utah Jazz Make Statement with T-shirt
Nobody disses the state of Utah.
Earlier this week, the Golden State Warriors of the NBA were rooting for the Los Angeles Clippers to make it out of their opening-round playoff series against the Jazz, who are based in Salt Lake City. But the reason they were rooting for the L.A. team as their next opponent had nothing to do with basketball.
“There’s no nightlife in Utah,” said Warriors’ forward Matt Barnes who, like his fellow teammates, enjoys a little nightlife during the season and seemed to echo the team’s desire to party in Los Angeles rather than Salt Lake City.
Not a team to take insults lightly, the Jazz – as well as Utah state tourism officials – responded quickly with a barrage of new campaigns to debunk the Warriors’ claim that nightlife is non-existent in the Beehive State. The Jazz even took it a step further by designing a new T-shirt in team colors with the hashtag #Nightlife emblazoned on the chest.
From team President Steve Starks:
The #nightlife @utahjazz shirts will be available online tomorrow @FanzzSports and in arena Saturday. $1 per shirt goes to #fiveforthefight pic.twitter.com/Bze2OK7r3M

The promotional tee is for sale online and will be available during this weekend’s game in Utah. Best of all, proceeds from the sale will benefit a local cancer charity. And as of May 3 the team had already sold three times the number of shirts they originally planned for the campaign.
