JournalBooks Donates Care Kits to Second Harvest Food Bank
The PCNA subsidiary created 1,500 gift bags for children.
JournalBooks (asi/91340), a subsidiary of Top 40 supplier Polyconcept North America (PCNA, asi/78897), has donated 1,500 gift bags to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in hopes of giving children something to smile about during the COVID-19 crisis.
As part of the PCNA Cares program, the Charlotte, NC-based supplier gave reusable tote bags, teddy bears, custom-made activity books and colored pencils to the local food bank. The activity books teach children about social distancing and how to stay safe during the pandemic. Illinois-based Seko Logistics delivered the gift bags, which will be distributed as part of the food bank’s Mobile Pantry, which brings food directly to families in need throughout 24 counties in the Carolinas.
“JournalBooks has always supported local organizations, and there’s no greater way to support our community right now than collaborating with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina,” said Tim O’Boyle, president of JournalBooks. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way by creating an activity book that will not only bring kids joy, but also serve as an educational tool.”
PCNA has made other donations through its PCNA Cares programs in recent weeks, including 10,000 teddy bears to encourage recipients to participate in an online social distancing scavenger hunt.
