Predicting 2017 World Series Winners
Way back in April, before the 'boys of summer' took the field to begin the 2017 MLB regular season, Counselor’s Chris Ruvo and I sat down for a spirited Facebook Live discussion about the best logos in baseball. Branding, we argued, was as timeless as the sport itself, and we shared our completely biased and subjective Top 5 baseball logos.
But that wasn’t all we did during the livestream.
At the end, Chris and I gave our World Series predictions for 2017. On gut instinct alone – and with no help from a time machine, we swear! – Chris predicted the Houston Astros would win their first title while I had the Los Angeles Dodgers winning their seventh title – what would be their first championship in 29 years.
The two teams vying for this year’s World Series? Astros and the Dodgers. (Don’t believe our predictions?! Watch the snippet, below, from our April livestream.)
Being that both Chris and I are huge Yankees fans, we’re a little disappointed that the Bronx Bombers were given the boot by Houston recently. Nonetheless, we’re pretty excited for a showdown of teams we both predicted would win the World Series nearly seven months ago. The office is abuzz with anticipation, and the trash talk has already begun. Who will be this year’s ultimate MLB postseason prognosticator, Chris or I?
One of us can’t wait to brag about it!
