Whitestone Promotes Dominique Volker to VP of Sales
Volker was the company’s first employee and has had a glittering career through her first eight years in the business, executives said. The distributorship is a 2024 Counselor Best Place to Work.
Back when Whitestone Branding (asi/359741) was a fledging distributorship, Dominique Volker was the New York City-headquartered firm’s first employee.
Her subsequent success has mirrored – and propelled – the ascent of Whitestone, now a branded merchandise company generating well into eight figures of annual revenue and the number two-ranked industry business on Counselor’s 2024 Best Places to Work list. And as such, Volker has earned another promotion – this time to vice president of sales.
In the role, she’ll oversee all facets of the Whitestone sales team, helping to drive the distributorship to reaching its long-term revenue and profitability goals.
Whitestone founder Joseph Sommer said the timing was right to make the well-deserved promotion, in part because of structural changes the firm undertook in the sales department; this stems from leaders initiating a new 10-year company plan at the start of 2023.
“Dominique sets exceptionally high standards for herself and inspires others in the company to reach new heights through her mentorship, robust leadership abilities and keen eye for recognizing individual strengths,” said Sommer. “She possesses the expertise needed to nurture client relationships at the highest level, while also cultivating and empowering her colleagues.”
Volker began with Whitestone in 2016 in a jack-of-all-trades operations role. When she began digging into sales, her career soared. There was a point when she’d built and was managing a $7 million book of business – achievements that saw her named a 2023 Distributor Salesperson of the Year Finalist by ASI Media.
Volker eventually transitioned into a director’s role; her seven-figure portfolio was distributed to other team members last year as she took on the leadership position. Her success as a director led to the vice president appointment.
“I have had the privilege of working alongside Dominique in multiple capacities – both as a colleague and as a client,” said Lee Ann Mazzarisi, executive director of brand operations. “Her dedication to her clients is remarkable; she genuinely invests in their success and strives to make them shine like rock stars. As a natural leader, Dominique commands respect and admiration from the entire team.”
Whitestone Branding ranked second overall and first in the medium-size company category on Counselor’s 2024 Best Places to Work list. Employees said three words that best describe the firm are “innovative,” “creative” and “collaborative.”
