The Magnet Group Expands Castelli Line

The Castelli WireO line will offer more affordable options within the Castelli division of the Counselor Top 40 supplier, executives said.

Counselor Top 40 supplier The Magnet Group (asi/68507) is expanding its Castelli division offerings with the Castelli WireO collection, a selection of more affordable promo options from the Italy-based journal- and stationery-focused line.

The WireO products feature a black wire binding, as opposed to the traditional journal binding of the majority of Castelli’s existing products from The Magnet Group.

Castelli’s new WireO product line includes the Chia WireO, one of the brand’s new cover options this year, as well as a sustainable ApPeel cover and a Tucson WireO option.

“The WireO collection will open up a whole new market for Castelli in the United States,” said Dan Jellinek, chief revenue officer at The Magnet Group. “It’s a great cost-effective option for a bound book.”

Castelli is a brand of notebooks and other stationery based out of Italy with a focus on premium covers. The Magnet Group partnered with Castelli North America in 2014, creating a new division under The Magnet Group’s umbrella as the supplier took over all domestic sales and marketing.

The expanded WireO selection includes three different product options – including the Ortisei from Castelli’s ApPeel line, an eco-friendly notebook featuring pages made from apple pulp and vegetable fibers with an apple-based “eco-peel” cover.

Each journal will be offered in three sizes – 5½ by 8 inches, 6½ by 9½ inches or 8 by 11 inches – and in a variety of colors. All cover styles can take debossing, foil or a four-color print for decoration.

The Castelli WireO collection is the first time The Magnet Group will offer WireO products at this scale within the U.S., Jellinek said. The journals will be assembled and decorated at the supplier’s facility in South Carolina, with the new products officially launching on the supplier’s site early next week.

The Magnet Group ranked 19th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry by reported North American promo sales, with $102.7 million in revenue last year.
