HPG Partners With Evertreen for Reforestation Initiative

The Top 40 supplier plants a tree – which is monitored via satellite – for every natural product sold, through the collaboration.

Top 40 supplier HPG (asi/61966) said it’s taking steps to combat climate change with its latest collaboration.

The Braintree, MA-headquartered firm has partnered with Evertreen, a platform dedicated to global reforestation efforts, to plant thousands of trees worldwide, as part of HPG’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Jing Rong, vice president of supply chain and sustainability at HPG, said the partnership with a company “aimed at moving the needle to a greener environmental impact through global tree planting to offset carbon emissions” dovetails well with the launch of HPG’s sustainability initiatives in April.

“For every product made from natural materials, HPG plants a tree with Evertreen, empowering customers to participate in environmental conservation and community prosperity,” she added.

Evertreen’s platform allows companies and individuals to plant real trees remotely and track their growth via video updates and satellite. This approach, according to the company, helps with reforestation and provides vital data on the health and progress of newly planted trees. Through the partnership, HPG will facilitate the planting of trees around the world, in an effort to offset CO2 emissions, restore natural habitats and support local communities by creating job opportunities for farmers involved in tree-planting projects. The initiative includes comprehensive monitoring of the reforestation sites, so businesses that partner with HPG will be able to view the impact of their contributions through a forest landing page online.

“We are delighted to join forces with HPG Brands in our quest for a greener and more sustainable planet,” said Dan Ciufo, CEO and co-founder of Evertreen. “This collaboration highlights our dedication to environmental preservation and community upliftment. We eagerly anticipate furthering our initiatives together in the future.”

In April, HPG released its first sustainability report, detailing that it had become certified as a CarbonNeutral enterprise and rolled out its Goods2Know sustainable product categorization.

Based on reported 2022 North American promotional product revenue of $268.8 million, HPG ranked eighth on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry. Across its 11 brands, HPG offers more than 15,000 SKUs. It produces and ships from nine facilities strategically located across North America.
