Printer Artisan Colour Acquires Digital Marketing Agency MarComm
The deal will allow the firms to provide integrated commercial printing and digital solutions, executives said.
The way executives at Artisan Colour and MarComm see it, the key to integrating commercial printing and digital marketing into powerful combined solutions for customers requires a deep understanding of when, where and how to use each medium.
That, the executives said, is just what clients of the companies will be getting following a just-announced acquisition that sees Scottsdale, AZ-based Artisan Colour, a provider of commercial printing and color management services, buy MarComm, a digital marketing agency that specializes in cross-channel strategies and integration techniques.
“This acquisition brings together two industry leaders with distinct complementary specialties under one roof, creating a unique synergy that sets us apart from other print-digital partnerships,” said Doug Bondon, CEO and founder of Artisan Colour.
Financial terms of the deal were not released. However, executives noted that MarComm’s digital marketing team will integrate with Artisan Colour.
“Having our digital marketing team work side by side with Artisan’s print and technology specialists allows for real-time collaboration and agile campaign development,” said Tyler Holliday, former CEO of MarComm and new vice president of growth at Artisan Colour.
Prior to the acquisition, Artisan Colour’s capabilities included custom printed packaging, personalized printing, marketing collateral, signage/graphics, catalog print/production, direct mail solutions and marketing fulfillment.

All those are still in play with the addition of MarComm-driven digital solutions, such as digital marketing strategies, CRM implementations and integrations, HubSpot ecosystem solutions, web design and development, SEO and content marketing, and social media management.
Such solutions are augmented, executives said, by Artisan Colour’s expertise in color management, which helps provide accurate, consistent and “true-to-life” branding across all marketing channels.
“Businesses are no longer looking for separate print and digital marketing vendors,” said Aaron Kilby, vice president of sales and marketing at Artisan Colour. “They actively seek a new breed of marketing partner who can offer seamlessly integrated print and digital strategies, ensure data is leveraged across channels and optimize every touchpoint to drive better results. By joining forces with MarComm, Artisan Colour is now that partner.”
Holliday and business partner Michelle Burson founded MarComm in 2019. Artisan Colour has been in business since 1998.
Customers of both firms are reportedly excited to see them join forces. Count Trevor Underwood, vice president of digital marketing at DECRA Metal Roofing, among them.
“DECRA has worked with both MarComm and Artisan Colour, and the results have been extraordinary,” Underwood said in a statement. “Artisan Colour pours the same level of craftsmanship, quality and precision into print that MarComm pours into digital marketing.”
