3M Recalls Laminators
St. Paul, MN-based 3M Co., parent company of Top 40 supplier 3M/Promotional Markets (asi/91240), has recalled 395,000 Scotch thermal laminators because of a plastic enclosure that can overheat and become a burn hazard. To date, 3M has received 10 reports of the laminators overheating and destroying the bottom of the enclosures. No injuries have been reported.

According to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) notice, the laminators are white with teal accents and have the model number TL901C. The items, which were made in China and imported by 3M, were sold at J.A. Riollano and Sam’s Club stores in Puerto Rico and online at Amazon.com from July 2015 through March 2018 for about $20 each. The laminators have “Scotch” printed on the front and measure 14” x 3.8” x 2.75” overall.
The CPSC is asking customers who have these laminators to stop using them and contact 3M for a full refund. Customers can reach 3M at (800) 772-4337 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or online at www.ScotchBrand.com.
