Boost Engagement Acquires Impact Plus, Inc.

Ohio-based Boost Engagement, which does business as Shumsky (asi/326300) and Boost Rewards, has acquired Impact Plus, Inc., a distributor in Charlotte, NC. Financial terms of the deal were not released, but principals noted that Boost Engagement is acquiring all of Impact’s existing customers.

Impact Plus specializes in work uniforms and corporate apparel. That, along with the company's geographic reach and clientele, helped make the business attractive to Shumsky/Boost Engagement. “It was the right cultural fit with a great client base where we were looking to expand our market reach,” Shumsky CEO Dawn Conway told Counselor. “We are confident this merger will strengthen our position in the market, while providing Impact’s accounts with increased value in areas such as product safety, flexible ecommerce, and expertise in custom product development.”

Steve Stetsky, president of Impact Plus, believes joining Shumsky will empower Impact to provide customers with better service and meet more of their needs. “I am certain that Shumsky is the right fit and look forward to introducing our clients to so many new resources,” Stetsky said.

Going forward, Impact Plus will operate under the Boost/Shumsky umbrella and will no longer go to market as “Impact Plus,” Conway told Counselor. Stetsky will remain as an advisor through the transition. Sergio Serrano from Impact Plus will be joining Shumsky as a national account executive, supporting the southeast region from Charlotte. Others from Impact Plus are not making the transition.

Boost Engagement’s sales in 2017 tallied $31 million, up from $29 million the year prior, Conway told Counselor. So far, 2018 has been a good year for business, creating optimism that’s further fueled by the Impact Plus acquisition. “The year has been really promising so far,” Conway said. “We are up from 2017 and ahead of 2018’s plan.”
