Top 40 distributor Geiger (asi/202900) has announced that company president Jo-an Lantz has been promoted to CEO, effective April 1, 2019.

“Jo-an is a rare talent, someone with a relentless focus on personal growth and accomplishing company goals,” said Gene Geiger, the firm’s chairman, in a statement. “She understands and embraces a culture that is unique in our industry, and I know that she will lead Geiger Nation to unprecedented success in the years ahead. I’ll still have a ringside seat, and I can’t wait to see what she and her superb team will achieve.”

In January, Lantz became the first non-family president of the Maine-based firm. A graduate of Purdue University, Lantz has served in several sales and operations positions at Geiger during her career. She’s been a perennial member of the Counselor Power 50 and ASI honored her as the International Person of the Year in 2004 and a Distributor Woman of Distinction in 1998. Lantz was inducted into the PPAI Hall of Fame in 2009.

With reported 2017 North American promotional products revenue of $185.5 million, Geiger ranked 10th on Counselor’s latest list of the largest distributors in the industry.
