GeigerBTC Names New Top Executive
Vicky Kinasz will be taking over for the retiring Frank Murphy.
Vicky Kinasz will be the new managing director of GeigerBTC, the U.K.-based subsidiary of Lewiston, ME-headquartered Top 40 distributorship Geiger (asi/202900).
Frank Murphy, GeigerBTC’s current managing director, is retiring at the end of May.
“Vicky brings a track record of managing client relationships and teams with strong communication skills,” said Geiger CEO Jo-an Lantz. “Her experience as a managing director, as well as with promotional products, sales promotion agencies, and consumer brands makes her uniquely qualified.”
From 2011 on, Kinasz worked for global promotional merchandise company Supremia International. Her roles there included managing director, general manager and senior account director. Prior to joining Supremia, Kinasz’s career included owning her own promo firm and serving as enterprise director at Clarenco, a U.K.-based group of companies in the real estate and hospitality markets.
“I am delighted to be joining the team at Geiger BTC,” says Kinasz. “I have spent over 20 years in the promotions industry, and to have the opportunity to join a world-class organization with such an incredible culture and heritage is truly the most exciting opportunity of my career. I very much look forward to meeting in the near future with all our clients, partners and suppliers.”
Murphy was a founding member of BTC Group, which Geiger acquired in 2018. Since then, Murphy has played a pivotal role in helping GeigerBTC grow organically, while also making strategic acquisitions of other U.K. distributorships.
“Following a very successful two-year transition period, I am looking forward to a new and exciting stage in my life, albeit one curtailed somewhat by the current coronavirus crisis,” Murphy said. “While I am saddened to leave behind an amazing team of colleagues, many of whom I have known for more than 25 years, I could not be more delighted to hand the reins over to Vicky Kinasz. I know she will lead GeigerBTC on to even greater things.”
Said Lantz: “It is difficult to imagine GeigerBTC without Frank Murphy. He has been the lifeblood of the organization for over 40 years. We wish him the very best in his retirement.”
With reported 2018 North American promotional product revenue of $210.6 million, Geiger ranked 10th on Counselor’s latest list of the largest distributors in the industry.
