HanesBrands Names New CFO
Michael Dastugue was most recently chief financial officer at Walmart U.S.
HanesBrands (asi/59528) has a new chief financial officer.
Effective May 1, Michael Dastugue is stepping into the C-suite role at the global apparel manufacturer, whose products sell extensively in the North American promotional products market.
“Michael has an impressive record of delivering results and building capabilities,” said Steve Bratspies, HanesBrands CEO. “He has been a driving force in large-scale change programs and in positioning companies for long-term growth.”
Boasting more than 30 years of financial leadership experience, Dastugue was most recently CFO/vice president at Walmart U.S. He spearheaded financial activities at the retailer’s $370 billion U.S. segment, playing what HanesBrands described as a key role in improving profitability and productivity.
Before that leadership role, Dastugue served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Sam’s Club, Walmart’s $57 billion club division. Before joining Walmart in 2013, Dastugue was chief financial officer at J.C. Penney. While there, he held a number of financial and real estate leadership roles over the course of about 20 years, executives said.
“HanesBrands has a strong foundation and is executing an aggressive strategic plan,” Dastugue said. “I look forward to joining the new leadership team, driving the growth agenda and helping the company reach its full potential.”
