The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued official recalls for children’s pajama sets from Sweet Bamboo of Carlsbad, CA, and Richie House children’s robes from Belle Investment Corp. of Irvine, CA. No ASI-listed companies were named in the recalls.

Both the pajamas and robes fail to meet federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries. As of this writing, no injuries have been reported.

The pajama sets, manufactured in China, are comprised of short-sleeve button-down shirts and matching pants with elastic waistbands, made of 50% cotton and 50% viscose from bamboo. They were sold in dark blue gingham, light blue gingham, purple gingham and black pin dot, in sizes 12 to 18 months, 18 to 24 months, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5 and 6 years. About 500 of them were sold at children’s boutique stores and at www.mysweetbamboo.com from February 2016 through May 2017 for about $40.

The hooded robes, also made in China, are constructed of 100% polyester. They have a tie belt and two front pockets. The words “Richie House Los Angeles” is printed on a label sewn into the neck. They were sold in sizes 4/5 through 12/14, and in four different color/print combinations: red with dogs, blue with butterflies, pink and white with white polka dots and solid pink. Approximately 1,500 robes were sold on Amazon from December 2015 through March 2017 for between $20 and $22.

The CPSC advises consumers of both the pajama sets and robes to take them away from children as soon as possible and contact the respective firms for refund information.
