PromoSpark Builds $1.2M Headquarters, Making Room for Fulfillment
The Fairfield, OH-based distributor plans to move into a new 12,000-square-foot facility by the end of the year.
Fairfield, OH-based PromoSpark (asi/349939) is growing – building a $1.2 million headquarters that will nearly quadruple its footprint, allowing the promotional products distributor to expand its fulfillment services.
PromoSpark recently broke ground on a 12,000-square-foot facility on a 4.85-acre site, and expects to be able to move into the new building by the end of the year.
PromoSpark’s business has changed a lot since COVID, with more and more clients looking for warehousing and fulfilment services, rather than having goods drop-shipped directly to their offices, said Owner Sarah Johnston.
“Our current setup is not necessarily designed for fulfillment as efficiently as it could be,” Johnston said. With the new building, she added, “We’re trying to break the mold of traditional promo products processing. Our industry is so used to drop-shipping, which is a win for us, but is it always the best fit for the customer? In many cases, the customer doesn’t have the space to store a large drop-ship order. How can we be more on-demand for them? How can we allow them to reach all customers or employees?”
In addition to optimizing fulfillment capabilities, PromoSpark’s new home will feature flexible work rooms that allow the distributor’s 15 team members to work in the office or remotely, and a patio with a grill to encourage happy hours throughout the year. PromoSpark was named to Counselor’s Best Places to Work list in 2019.
“We’re definitely going to have an open-concept office with an upbeat, modern vibe,” Johnston said.
The quest for a new building has caused some headaches, with construction prices rising about 30% since Johnston began her expansion search in March 2021. Still, she noted that the new property sets PromoSpark up for future expansion. Over the next three to five years, Johnston said she expects the firm’s revenue to double, growing from around $4 million to $5 million this year, then to around $8 million to $10 million.
