J.Charles Crystalworks Acquires Quarry International
Supplier firm J.Charles Crystalworks (asi/62985) has purchased sister company Quarry International (asi/80202), the company announced Tuesday. Terms of the acquisition were not revealed. J.Charles President Barry Dyas, who owns a portion of Quarry, will assume full ownership with the retirement of President Jim Fitzgerald, who led Quarry for 27 years.
"Due to common ownership, it only makes sense for J.Charles to make this acquisition,” Dyas said. "We certainly wish Jim a long and happy retirement and we know his employees as well as many distributors will miss him very much."
The suppliers reside in the same building owned by J.Charles in Erlanger, KY, and have always shared marketing efforts. Quarry will be integrated under the new line name Quarry by J.Charles, and both marketing and customer service will be handled through J.Charles. Quarry will retain its separate ASI number and contact information for the time being.
"We see this as a good fit for J.Charles as Quarry's stone products have a classic look that is a nice alternative to our mostly contemporary line of glass and crystal,” said Dyas. “Distributors can continue to expect the high standards for service and quality that Quarry and J.Charles are both well-known for."
