The Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) announced the winners of its annual awards during a holiday party held at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle, NY, on Dec. 8.

“So many faces, both old and new, gathered together to honor and celebrate success,” said Rachel Levin, SAAGNY president. “It was a night to a remember.”

SAAGNY’s board of directors established its awards to recognize companies and individuals that best represent the ideals of the promotional products industry. Winners were all nominated and voted on by the association’s members in balloting conducted in September and October.

Starline USA Inc. (asi/89320) and Tekweld (asi/90807) were named suppliers of the year. JP Scar Inc. and Stackable Sensations (asi/332999) were named distributors of the year. Polyconcept North America (PCNA; asi/78897) received the supplier technology award, and HALO Branded Solutions (asi/356000) received the distributor technology award. Insane Apparel (asi/62737) was named decorator of the year.

Josh Brooks of Brooks & Brooks received the John J. Pagano Multi-Line Rep of the Year award. Will Flores of Tekweld was honored as the top customer service rep. John R.B. Cudahy of Raining Rose (asi/80489) and Gail Deutchman of Distinctive Promotions was named humanitarian of the year. Beth Silverman of The Vernon Company (asi/351700) received a Diamond Award in the goodwill/nonprofit/fundraising category, and Stackable Sensations received a Diamond Award for internal self-promotion/employee incentive programs. SAAGNY also named its 40 under 40 cohort.

In addition, the SAAGNY Foundation honored Harvey Mackler, owner of supplier Gempire (asi/55610), by installing him into the SAAGNY Foundation Hall of Fame. Mackler, who said it was an honor to be inducted into the hall of fame, noted that “It’s also an acknowledgement of the many industry colleagues who worked tirelessly alongside me.”

SAAGNY represents distributors, suppliers and decorators of imprinted promotional products in New York and parts of New Jersey and Connecticut.
