Sunscope Says It No Longer Has Relationship With Aprinta
Top 40 supplier Sunscope (asi/90075) says it no longer has a business relationship with Aprinta – a firm whose brands it formerly managed. Sunscope’s clarification comes days after Counselor reported that the New York State Department of Labor is investigating a now-shuttered company owned by Aprinta CEO Billy Dolan. According to Sun Coast Merchandise Corp, which does business as Sunscope, its dealings with Aprinta “amicably” came to an end about 17 months ago.
In a statement to Counselor, Sunscope COO Dilip Bhavnani said that “Sun Coast Merchandise Corp. has never had any financial, business or ownership interest in Aprinta Group LLC. The principals of Sun Coast Merchandise Corp. have no financial, business, or ownership interest in Aprinta Group LLC and prior ownership interest in that company ended on September 30, 2016 when Billy Dolan took over 100% ownership of Aprinta Group, LLC.”
Dolan, named Counselor’s International Person of the Year in 2011, was the CEO of one-time Top 40 supplier Camsing Global. In 2014, Meridian PO Finance LLC, the senior secured lender to Camsing, sold all of Camsing’s assets to Capital Supply Group Inc., including brands such as Adva-Lite, Dart Business Accessories, Drinx, Falcon Promotional Products, It’s All Greek to Me, StyleWrite and Toppers. At that time, Sunscope announced an agreement to manage Camsing’s former brands, resulting in the Aprinta Group. According to Sunscope, the companies now operate separately.
