Promo Supplier Crystal D Buys New, Larger Facility

The company said the new building will have double the space for inventory.

Crystal D (asi/47759) has purchased a new 40,000-square-foot facility in St. Paul, MN, a move that will enable the promotional products supplier to carry more inventory and double its production capacity.

In particular, executives said that the building will allow Crystal D to house all inventory in one location, with expanded production and shipping areas empowering the firm to handle more orders.

“We are excited for the additional space,” said Kari Hurtis, vice president of operations.

Crystal D is transferring inventory from its current location and two additional off-site warehouses to the new facility. When it’s all said and done, the new facility will have double the space for inventory, executives said.

“This expansion is just one of many planned steps toward our five-year growth initiatives,” said company President Chuck Dahlgren. “It will allow us to remain nimble during times of transition as we continue to grow and prepare for future acquisitions.”

Crystal D specializes in corporate awards and gifts, offering more than 1,500 products. The firm said it has maintained high levels of inventory during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to supply chain disruption that’s caused stock shortfalls throughout the promo products industry. The new facility will help further bolster Crystal D’s inventory position, executives said.

Said the company in a statement: “Crystal D’s growth has increased over the past several years, and the expansion comes at a time when inventory is important to the level of service that is provided to customers.”
