Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has recalled about 15,000 Minnie and Mickey Mouse infant hooded sweatshirts. In a notice issued Tuesday, the CPSC said snap closures on the hoodies can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. So far, no injuries or incidents have been reported. No ASI-listed suppliers or distributors have been linked to the recall.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled infant hoodies and contact Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., Inc. for instructions on returning them for a full refund,” the CPSC said in a statement.

Manufactured in China, the hooded sweatshirts were imported by Disney Theme Park Merchandise. From April through October of last year, Disney sold the hoodies for about $30 each at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL, Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA, and on the “Shop Disney Parks” mobile application.

A blend of cotton and polyester, the hoodies come in four sizes – 6M, 12M, 18M and 24M. Both the Mickey and Minnie versions of the sweatshirt are black with mouse-like ears attached to the hoods. The Minnie also features a red fabric bow with white polka dots on the top of the hood between the ears. The artwork on the rest of the hoodie shows a screen print of Minnie’s body up to the neck. Similarly embellished, the Mickey version displays a screen print of the famous cartoon mouse’s body.
