Geiger Announces European Acquisition
Top 40 distributor Geiger (asi/202900) announced Monday that its United Kingdom-based distributorship, GeigerBTC, has acquired London-based firm EMC Advertising Gifts. Financial terms of the deal, which is part of Geiger’s strategy to expand in the UK and Europe, were not released.
EMC has been in business since 1966. GeigerBTC made the acquisition as part of their plan to best support the needs of global customers in North America, Europe and around the globe. "We are delighted to become part of GeigerBTC and the expanding Geiger global network,” said EMC Managing Director Simon Kay. “Our companies share similar cultures and ideals. We look forward to being able to offer our multinational clients the enhanced services that such a union brings."
Said EMC Sales Director Gina Tofallis: “After 31 years with EMC, I am really looking forward to my next challenge. Simon and I are excited to join the GeigerBTC team and continue to support our customers with the care and close attention for which we are known.”
Geiger President Jo-an Lantz said EMC will make a great addition to the Geiger family. "EMC has a long tradition of strong relationships with their clients and their culture and approach match perfectly with GeigerBTC,” said Lantz.
Frank Murphy, managing director of GeigerBTC, added: "EMC is an iconic name in the UK promotional merchandise market and we are extremely proud to be joining forces with Simon and Gina. We look forward to a very successful partnership."
Geiger has been busy making acquisitions lately. Last week, for instance, the Lewiston, ME-based company acquired CM Promotions as part of a Midwest-focused expansion effort.
With reported 2017 North American promotional product revenue of $185.5 million, Geiger ranked 10th on Counselor’s latest list of the largest distributors in the industry.
