HALO Acquires Virginia-Based Distributor
Top 40 distributor HALO Branded Solutions (asi/356000) announced late Thursday that it has acquired Boost Promotional Branding (asi/282470), a distributor headquartered in Richmond, VA. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Sterling, IL-based HALO will maintain Boost sales offices in Richmond, Birmingham, AL and Nashville, TN. Select administrative and support functions are transferring to HALO’s headquarters. While Boost Promotions revenue was not released, the company has been one of the larger distributor members of Facilisgroup, a promo industry tech and consulting group that represents companies with more than a half a billion dollars in annual sales. HALO told Counselor that Boost will be going on the HALO platform following a short transition period from Facilis.
HALO CEO Marc Simon was excited about the deal.
“Jeff and Teki Hall have built a successful business by focusing on creativity and client innovation,” Simon said. “HALO will provide Boost with additional resources to continue their impressive growth.”
Boost executive Jeff Hall said joining HALO was a “perfect fit” for Boost, which made two acquisitions itself in 2017 while serving thousands of clients across the country.
“We were drawn to (HALO) by their integrity and complete focus on positive client outcomes,” Hall said. “Culturally, it was a perfect fit. Under the HALO umbrella, we can now offer our clients expanded services and better long-term support. We’re incredibly excited about what this means to our associates and clients. I look forward to continuing to support the Boost team for many years.”
With reported 2017 North American promotional product revenue of $416.4 million, HALO ranks third on Counselor’s latest list of the largest distributors in the industry.
HALO has been actively making acquisitions over the last year. In 2018, it acquired then Top 40 distributors Sunrise Identity and CSE, as well as Chamberlain Marketing Group.
More acquisitions could be forthcoming. “We’ve established a solid track record of rewarding business owners for the hard work they have put into building their business when it is time to sell, and have proven they can trust HALO to honor the commitments we make and to continue to grow their business post-acquisition,” Terry McGuire, HALO’s senior vice president of marketing and supply chain, previously told Counselor. “We’re hopeful this track record continues to draw those owners into meaningful conversations with us.”
