Doing Good Works Acquires CP CustomPrints

Irvine, CA-based Doing Good Works (DGW, asi/556011) has acquired the assets of print and branded merchandise company CP CustomPrints in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

According to Amy Bawden, chief financial officer of DGW, CP CustomPrints was approaching $1 million in sales at the time of the acquisition, and their current in-house team has joined DGW.

“We see this acquisition as a strategic alignment, bringing together the strengths of two companies to expand our mutual client base and scale our impact for foster youth,” said Scott Henderson, co-founder of DGW, in a statement. “We could not be more excited to leverage CP CustomPrint’s expertise in the college campus market because it will allow us to impact even more college students who have experienced foster care.”

For almost four years, CP CustomPrints has served the college and university industry with custom apparel. Since 2018, DGW has offered hard goods to CP CustomPrints’ customers, and moving forward, DGW will employ the CustomPrints name for its new branded merchandise division.

In 2019, DGW ranked second on Counselor’s list of the fastest-growing distributors, with 702% growth between 2016 and 2018, and was named on the Inc. 5000 list of the most successful companies in the country.

DGW, made up of the Purpose Printery, Custom Prints and Foster Greatness divisions, is committed to benefiting the youth foster system with its 10 | 20 | 30 business model: 10% of corporate profits are invested in young people aging out of foster care; 20% of employees’ time is spent mentoring; and 30% of staff are hired from the foster care community.
