ColDesi Partners With E-Commerce Management Firm

Merchadise will provide integrated order and workflow management to the equipment supplier’s DigitalHeat FX direct-to-film printers.

ColDesi (asi/18325), a decorating equipment manufacturer, has partnered with Merchadise Inc., an e-commerce ecosystem for the branded merch industry. Customers of ColDesi’s DigitalHeat FX direct-to-film printer line will have access to an integrated e-commerce order and workflow management solution, thanks to the partnership.

ColDesi has partnered with Merchadise to offer e-commerce order and workflow management to its DigitalHeat FX direct-to-film printer line.

The solution is still under development, but the companies say they hope to make Merchadise tech available to DigitalHeat FX customers during the second quarter of 2022.

Merchadise’s technology provides a direct integration between the e-commerce front end and the workflow it manages on the back end. This includes sourcing of blank garments, inventory management, production, and fulfillment of e-commerce customer orders. This gives its customers a true e-commerce “micro-factory,” according to the company.

“Most DigitalHeat FX customers are buying the system to help better support e-commerce demand,” said Mike Angel, head of on-demand business development at ColDesi, in a press release. “Merchadise’s workflow technology acts as a turnkey solution for them to easily manage every aspect of their e-commerce.”

Alex Phelan, CEO of Merchadise, said he was excited for his company to be associated with ColDesi’s direct-to-film technology. It “allows brands to move to a true on-demand model for most or all of their branded merch business because it can produce premium retail quality consistently across nearly every type of fabric,” he noted in a press release.

Phelan and Alex Young, founders of Merchadise, have been part of the print-on-demand industry for nearly a decade. The Merchadise e-commerce ecosystem, they say, is a way to help American businesses develop a new supply chain that can manage disruptions. ColDesi serves more than 30,000 clients, helping promotional products distributors, apparel decorators and e-commerce businesses produce imprinted goods with its DigitalHeat FX printers and other decorating equipment.
