Sweda Donates $115,000 to Wounded Warrior Project
The donation continues a charitable partnership the Top 40 promo products supplier has with the nonprofit that serves wounded military veterans.
Sweda (asi/90305) has again stepped up to help U.S. military veterans.
The City of Industry, CA-based Top 40 promotional products supplier recently donated $115,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for veterans wounded during post-9/11 military actions.
Kellie Claudio, Sweda’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, presented a check for the six-figure donation to Julie Soares and Dan Nevins at the supplier’s trade show booth at the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas on Jan. 11.
Soares holds roles that include corporate partnerships/resource development manager at WWP. Nevins – an Iraq War veteran, double amputee, motivational speaker and yoga master who helps veterans across the country through initiatives like retreats – is a brand ambassador for WWP and Basecamp, an adventure brand from Sweda featuring backpacks, bear-tested coolers, drinkware, multi-tools, weatherproof Bluetooth speakers, hammocks and tents.
A portion of the proceeds from every Basecamp item that Sweda sells is donated to WWP.
“To date, Sweda has donated over $285,000 in monies and product to support the WWP, helping over 1 million veterans reclaim their lives and bring independence back to our nation’s most severely wounded,” the company said in a statement.
This year marks Sweda’s seventh in charitable partnership with Nevins and third as a partner with WWP.
Based on reported 2020 North American promo product revenue of $80.1 million, Sweda ranked 17th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry. Fellow Top 40 supplier SnugZ USA (asi/88060) recently acquired Sweda.
