Craton Promotions Adds Executives, Expands Operations
The Georgia-based distributor specializes in serving the motorsports market.
Craton Promotions (asi/169767) is having a growth spurt.
The Atlanta-area distributor hired several executives and expanded its operational footprint significantly. The news comes on the heels of a record-high sales year for the company: 2022 business was up 40% compared to the previous year, according to Craton.
“I believe we have assembled the best team in our company’s history,” said Charles Craton, CEO. “Our growth has been amazing over the last five years, especially in joining the world in persevering through the COVID shutdown and very difficult times just a few years ago. We have concluded our best year yet and look forward to even bigger growth in 2023.”
Craton Promotions recently brought on Geoff Lee as president. Lee is a veteran motorsports business executive and has served in numerous capacities during his 40-plus year career. Prior to joining Craton, he was president and general manager of Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Lee oversees Craton’s motorsports efforts along with its strategic alliances and partnerships.
Sherry Gantt has been hired as vice president of motorsports. Gantt has more than 25 years in the promotional products industry on both the supplier and distributor sides. She started in sales and management with Top 40 supplier Cutter & Buck (asi/47965) in 1997 and most recently served as southeast regional vice president at Top 40 distributor HALO Branded Solutions (asi/356000). She has served as a board member of the Georgia Association of Promotional Products Professionals (GAPPP) for the last three years. Gantt will help Craton develop and build its B2B relationships in the motorsports arena.
Todd Bomchel recently joined Craton as the director of merchandising/head buyer for motorsports. A 25-year promotional and advertising industry veteran, Bomchel served as a senior account executive at Top 40 distributor Nadel (asi/279600) early in his career. He later merged his own distributorship with a similar business in the Atlanta area before shifting to the advertising agency industry where he worked with local and global clients.
“I’m thrilled we have added such an impressive lineup of business talent to help us continue to grow our business and bring success to our clients,” said Thomas Craton, vice president of Craton Promotions. “We look forward to building on last year’s success straight away in 2023.”
In addition to expanding its management team, Craton completed two expansion relocations of its Atlanta-area corporate headquarters and warehouse, distribution and fulfillment center operations at the end of 2022. Along with additional space at the corporate headquarters in Norcross, GA, Craton is immediately using 20,000 square feet of space in a newly acquired operations center in Rome, GA. The distributor plans to put all 40,000 square feet of the building into use in the future.
Craton Promotions has been around for 35 years; in 2015, it refined its focus strictly to motorsports-associated clients. It’s the official merchandising partner for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, the International Motorsports Association (IMSA), Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and Sebring International Raceway, among others.
