Brooklyn, NY-based Royal Industries (asi/83770) has announced the acquisition of the promotional products division of New Jersey-based Marlo Plastic Products (asi/68873). Financial details of the transaction were not released.

“Royal and Marlo have been friendly competitors for years and the decision to sell the promotional product division was an organic conversation,” said Art Livingston, CEO of Marlo, in a press release. “It kind of just came up, and we both thought it would be a great idea to allow each of us to focus on what we are best at.”

Marlo Plastics will continue to operate and concentrate on diploma covers, lanyards and badge covers, accepting repeat orders on these items only. Marlo will no longer be selling the rest of their promotional products as those items will be handled by Royal Industries, which has all of the repeat files, art, dies, and more, the companies said.

Ari Ruden, vice president of Royal Industries, said that the acquisition of the Marlo Line will be a perfect complement to Royal’s growing line of products -- and an easy transition for its customers. Ruden asked that all distributors update their records to include the new phone number and contact information for The Marlo Line, effective immediately:
