ASB Releases Corporate Responsibility Report
The Top 40 distributor says the report shares its commitment to sustainability, charitable giving, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Glenwood, MN-based Top 40 distributor American Solutions for Business (ASB; asi/120075) has published its latest corporate responsibility report, which the company says chronicles highlights from its earliest days to accomplishments of late.
“This project was thoughtfully created through the collaboration of multiple teams,” said Justin Zavadil, ASB president. “This is not so much a fiscal report as it is a story of our journey as a company and the importance of our culture. We’re excited to uphold the commitments we’ve made to our employees, partners and customers.”
When it comes to sustainability, the distributor notes in the report that it aims “to move toward a future where the majority of our products and process are sustainable. This is elevated from our current goal of being eco-friendly by further reducing the direct damage done to our planet when creating our products.”
ASB notes that many of the vendors it sources from use recycled materials. The company also notes that it offers customers the option to source locally. Plus, ASB says, it offers products with giveback programs, raising funds for organizations that include 1% for the Planet, the Wounded Warrior Project and Meals on Wheels.
At its 60,000-square-foot distribution center in Glenwood, MN, ASB uses LED lighting and derives power from solar fields to save energy, according to the report.
The distributor’s own charitable efforts include adopting families during the holiday season and supporting organizations like Meals on Wheels, Make-A-Wish and the United Way. “We want to create a thriving community for our employees to live and work in, as well as contribute to culture and events,” the report notes.
In addition to detailing donations and volunteering at the home office, the report shares some of the volunteer efforts made by ASB’s 600-plus sales associates across the country.
ASB ranked eighth on Counselor’s most recent list of the top distributors in the industry, with 2021 North American promotional products sales of $244.3 million. The new list is due out later this month.
