The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an official recall for children’s hooded bathrobes. The apparel, imported and distributed by Kreative Kids Inc., in Pomona, CA, does not meet flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a burn hazard. No injuries have been reported to Kreative Kids or the CPSC, and no ASI-listed companies were named in the recall.

The long-sleeved robes, manufactured in China, are made of 100% polyester and were sold in sizes 4-6 and 7-9. They have a cinched back, belt and two front pockets, and were available in eight styles: purple elephant, lion, pink bear, lady bug, blue puppy, duck, monkey and princess cat. A label inside is printed with item number 2013NW081 and the words “Kreative Kids.”

Approximately 7,600 bathrobes were sold in gift and specialty stores in California, Iowa, New York, Ohio and Texas and on Amazon from September 2013 and April 2017 for between $15 and $17.

“Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children and contact Kreative Kids for a full refund,” said the CPSC in an official statement.
