Ohio-based Catania Medallic Specialty, Inc. (asi/44342) has announced the acquisition of New York-based GA Promo (asi/56325). As a result, Catania Medallic Specialty will move all of the GA Promo operations to its offices in Avon Lake, OH, where it will utilize their collective resources and strengths to drive sustainable growth. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The merger and partnership between Catania Medallic Specialty and GA Promo will allow us to leverage our similar custom-driven cultures and product lines,” Vince Frank, president of Catania Medallic Specialty, said in a press release. “We are excited about working with all of GA Promo’s customers and will continue to deliver the same great sales and outstanding customer service they have been receiving.”

For nearly 50 years, Catania Medallic Specialty has been supplying custom medals and lapel pins. The family-owned company has been named Awards and Personalization Association Supplier of the Year three times, the APA Customer Service Representative of the Year and most recently, an APA Founders Award recipient.

General Awards was founded in 1974 by George Waas, Cinthia’s father. General Awards was a leading supplier for the awards industry and a trendsetter in importing both stock and custom products from Asia. GA Promo was established as a separate division after General Awards was sold in 2004.
