Industry Veterans Launch Integrated Travel Gear Brand

Industry veterans Scott Pearson and Scott Edidin, former executives at Top 40 supplier Logomark (asi/67866), are introducing a new consumer brand of premium integrated travel gear called Xactly.
The curated capsule of products is built around a collection of bags with integrated wireless charging solutions and integrated hydration pockets. Xactly backpacks are designed especially for techies and travelers, featuring external charge ports and a QI Wireless pad that's connected to its internal power bank through holes and channeling tunnels throughout the bag's interior. Other products in the collection include drinkware, a Krypton collection of premium audio and a Lithium collection of portable power. The collection of products will be exclusively distributed through Top 40 supplier Hit Promotional Products (asi/61125).
“We believe that we can run a successful, relevant, fun business that values our social purpose as much as our profitability,” Pearson, managing partner of Xactly, told Counselor. “We believe we can develop badass premium products with sustainable materials that have a low impact on the environment. We know the fastest growing consumer base expects more – they want to work for, buy from and invest in businesses they believe in.” Pearson says this is an opportunity to build a better business and show “Love By What We Do,” which is the company’s tagline.
Giving back to the community is the foundation of Xactly. The startup has achieved pending B Corporation status, which consists of a network of like-minded companies that have been third party-verified to living up to the highest standards of benefiting others and the environment. Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community and the environment. Current Certified B Corporation companies include Ben & Jerry’s, Hootsuite, Kickstarter and more.
Pearson expects to achieve full certification by early 2020. “B Corp is a fast-growing community of businesses that believe in a triple bottom line (profitability, social and environmental impact) and use their sales as a force for good,” he says. “We are also driven to use our business as a force for good, with a focus on our social purpose and impact.”
Xactly has started its journey with a fast-growing partnership with the Planet Water Foundation to help bring clean and safe drinking water to disadvantaged schools and communities around the world. The team has traveled to Puerto Rico, Indonesia and most recently, to Cambodia for World Water Day in March.
“There’s a new way of doing business,” Pearson says. “Delivering valued promotional solutions and turning strong profits is not going to be enough. Consumers are voting with their purchases every day and increasingly buying products from brands that stand for more than simply turning a profit. We believe that global companies of all sizes will be looking for more products and suppliers that have the same values and impact to promote their business. We hope to lead a movement of companies that believe in prioritizing social purpose alongside profit, confirming that making money isn’t the only true measure of success.”
Xactly has launched a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $50,000 by July 10.
