BDA Names New Top Supply Chain Executive
Eric Kang has extensive experience managing operations and supply chains in the retail industry.
BDA (asi/137616), the fifth-largest distributor by revenue in the North American promotional products industry, has named Eric Kang (pictured) division vice president of global supply chain.
In announcing Kang’s appointment on Thursday, June 25, BDA said Kang will be responsible for centralizing supply chain operations domestically and internationally. He will oversee product development, sourcing, purchasing logistics and supplier services.
“Eric’s track record with some of the biggest global brands speaks for itself, and his leadership will be invaluable for BDA,” said Jay Deutsch, co-founder and CEO of BDA. “We couldn’t have a better person leading the charge in creating effective, data-driven growth.”
Kang has extensive experience in the retail industry, having started his career with Gap Inc. He’s since spent more than 10 years in leadership roles managing operations and supply chains for brands that include Classic Accessories, Sur La Table and ZoomSystems.
“The passion and commitment BDA has for its clients and the drive to see their strategic vision come to life is something I’m excited to be a part of,” Kang said. “I’m confident my experience in supply chain management and supplier services will bring fresh perspectives and exciting new developments to the team and create more opportunities for efficiency across all business divisions.”
The announcement of Kang’s appointment came the same week that BDA revealed it was expanding its North American operations by opening three offices in Calgary, Toronto and Waterloo, ON. These are BDA’s first offices in Canada since the company opened its fulfillment and distribution center in Windsor, ON, in 2010.
Headquartered in Woodinville, WA, BDA’s 2018 North American promotional product revenue tallied $427 million – good enough to put the firm among the top five largest distributors in the industry.
