Proforma Affiliate Honored for LGBTQ+ Efforts
The Tampa Bay Business Journal named Christie Hattersley a 2020 Business of Pride Individual Ally Honoree.
Christie Hattersley doesn’t just talk about encouraging diversity and inclusion; she takes action.
For her efforts, the co-owner of Riverview, FL-based C-Suite Promotions Powered by Proforma (asi/300094) was named a 2020 Business of Pride Individual Ally Honoree.
Bestowed by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the recognition goes annually to an individual who doesn’t identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, but nonetheless consistently advocates for its individuals and issues.
Hattersley has made the impact through serving as chair of the Tampa LGBT Chamber of Commerce, which provides education, networking and community engagement to advance common business interests, economic growth, and equality in the workplace and society for its LGBTQ+ and allied businesses, corporations and professional members.
“We do our best to support legislation that is positive such as the Equality Act, but also loudly oppose legislation that impacts the community negatively,” said Hattersley. “I think one of the largest challenges is that this is a community that is frequently left out of inclusion and diversity conversations. We have worked to make sure the city of Tampa accepts the LGBTBE certifications and that this community is given minority consideration. We will continue to spread awareness whenever possible.”
Proforma executives said they are proud to see an affiliate owner honored for dedicated work to the LGBTQ+ community.
“Christie’s great success as a business owner paired with her passion for social justice and equality is an inspiration to each of us in the Proforma family,” said Proforma CEO Vera Muzzillo.
June is Pride Month. Brands across industries have released special-edition branded pride merchandise. Often, the merch comes with a charitable component that benefits the LGBTQ+ community.
